With hometown pride, competitive sportsmanship, and a desire for a community gathering place, the vision for a new stadium was brought to life. Williamsburg High School's Abrams Stadium houses a 1,000 seat grandstand, press box, concession stand, coaching offices, versatile locker rooms, weight room, and ticket booth at the entry. The center of the locker rooms and weight room features a large garage door that opens up to lead athletes directly onto the field, creating a prominent entrance of team players in a Friday Night Lights experience.
Branded graphics and striking visuals in the facility were created with the student athlete in mind - and in collaboration with the high school students. VSWC led design team sessions with the students to create the graphic murals, cultivating a sense of ownership and pride.
